What's computed vs. what's interpreted

Sagelon separates calculation from interpretation. All positions, scores, and numbers are computed deterministically from your birth data using established mathematical methods:

• •BaZi pillars: derived from traditional Chinese calendar algorithms
• •Numerological values: computed using classical Pythagorean reduction
• •Big Five scores: normed against 248,449 respondents (IPIP-NEO-60)
• •Tarot correspondences: derived through established Major Arcana calculation

The written interpretation synthesizes patterns across these systems. It never moves a planet, changes a score, or alters a calculation. See our methodology page for full details.

Interpretations are based solely on your birth data. They reflect what the math says about your design at birth, not what you have faced, overcome, or become since then. Your lived experience shapes who you are in ways no calculation can capture. Each reading should be understood as one interpretive lens among many, not as definitive truth.

Calculation accuracy

Our astronomical calculations are powered by the Swiss Ephemeris, the gold standard for planetary position data used by professional astrologers worldwide. Chinese BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) calculations follow traditional rules and calendar conversions. Numerological values are computed using the Pythagorean system. Tarot birth card assignments follow established Major Arcana correspondence methods.

While we take great care to ensure the accuracy of these calculations, results may vary slightly from other tools due to differences in house systems, timezone handling, or interpretive traditions.

Ancient traditions, not peer-reviewed science

Astrology, BaZi, numerology, and tarot are ancient symbolic frameworks that have been practiced for centuries across many cultures. They offer rich languages for self-understanding and reflection. However, these systems have not been validated through peer-reviewed scientific research, and Sagelon does not claim that they constitute empirical science.

We present these traditions faithfully and with respect, while being transparent that their value lies in the meaning and insight you personally draw from them.
