How It Works

Computed, not guessed

Every number on Sagelon is calculated from your birth data using established methods. The written interpretation connects the patterns. It never moves a planet or changes a score.

Western Astrology

Planetary positions calculated to fractions of a degree using professional astronomical data (Swiss Ephemeris). Sun, Moon, Rising, all major planets, houses, and aspects. The same precision used by professional astrologers.

Technical: Swiss Ephemeris library with Placidus house system. Time zone resolution via GeoNames. Positions accurate to arc-seconds.

Chinese BaZi (Four Pillars)

Four Pillars derived from traditional Chinese calendar algorithms. Your Day Master element, Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, and the 10 Gods, calculated using the Sexagenary Cycle that has been in continuous use for over 2,000 years.

Technical: Traditional Sexagenary Cycle conversion with solar term boundaries for month pillar accuracy.

Numerology

Classical Pythagorean reduction with Master Number preservation. Life Path from birth date, Expression from full name, Soul Urge from name vowels. Master Numbers (11, 22, 33) are detected and preserved, never reduced.

Technical: Standard Pythagorean letter-to-number mapping. Single-digit reduction with Master Number halt conditions.

Big Five Personality

60-item psychometric assessment (IPIP-NEO-60) measuring five core personality domains and 30 facets. Your scores are normed against 248,449 respondents to produce percentile rankings.

Technical: IPIP-NEO-60 item set with Johnson norms (2014). Domain and facet percentiles via cumulative distribution lookup.

Tarot Birth Cards

Your fixed Major Arcana card pair derived through numerological reduction of your birth date. These represent the archetypal tension that frames your life.

Technical: Classical birth card calculation via sum-and-reduce method to Major Arcana range (1-22).

How interpretation works

The interpretation synthesizes across systems. It reads your calculated positions, scores, and convergence patterns, then writes the narrative that connects them into a coherent personality profile.

The interpretation does not calculate planetary positions, assign percentile scores, or change any number. Every data point in your reading comes from deterministic calculations. The written narrative finds the patterns between them and explains what they mean.

Reports are generated using multi-pass processing to ensure consistency across sections.

Why convergence is different

Any single system can tell you something interesting. Convergence is what happens when you stop reading systems in isolation and start checking them against each other.

Sagelon looks for the specific moments where unrelated frameworks independently reach the same conclusion. Not a blend or an average — a structural overlap that none of the individual systems can surface on their own.

Triangulation, not proof

The Big Five is peer-reviewed psychometrics. The traditional systems are not. We're straightforward about this distinction on every page and in every report.

Where the two sides agree, we name it. Where they disagree, we explore the tension. Either way, you're the one who decides what resonates. We show the data and the overlap. The meaning is yours.
