Aries

Aries is the first sign for a reason. The archetype is pure initiation: move before conditions are perfect, speak before the room is ready, decide before the committee has formed. People with strong Aries in their chart are usually the first person to act in any situation, and they've been that way since childhood.

Cardinal fire is an impatient combination. Cardinal signs start things. Fire gives them the fuel to not care whether it works out. The result is someone who takes risks other people talk themselves out of. Aries doesn't need a safety net. The net is for later. Right now there's something to do.

Mars rules here, and it shows. The communication style is blunt. Aries doesn't build consensus or soften the message. The impulse is to cut through whatever is ambiguous and land on a point. Some people find this refreshing. Others find it abrasive. Aries is rarely confused about which group someone falls into.

The downside is follow-through. Starting things is what Aries lives for. Finishing them is someone else's job. This isn't laziness. The spark of beginning is where the energy is. Once that fades, so does interest. Knowing this about yourself is more useful than fighting it.
